Milliken Moment Method Solver
Developed a numerical solver to map the non-linear lateral acceleration (A_y) versus yaw moment (M_z) envelope of a Formula Student car. By sweeping sideslip (β) and steer angles (δ), the tool characterizes handling characteristics, stability limits, and control authority at the limit of adhesion.
Overview
This project applies the Milliken Moment Method to map the non-linear lateral acceleration and yaw moment envelope of a Formula Student car.
My contribution
I developed a numerical solver that sweeps sideslip and steer angles to calculate the vehicle's feasible operating states across the limit-of-adhesion envelope.
Engineering focus
The resulting A_y–M_z map is used to characterize handling balance, stability limits, and available control authority near the tire force limits.
